Outlook offline address book not updating

After you create an OAB or modify OAB settings, the changes aren't available to users until the OAB generation (OABGen) process has completed. For additional management tasks related to OABs, see Offline address book procedures. Is there any way I can force a manual update of the Offline Address Book (OAB) in Outlook or reset it completely otherwise? In general, Outlook will automatically update the Offline Address Book (OAB) for Exchange accounts once every 24 hours.–For Instructions for Outlook 2007 –For Instructions for Outlook 2011 –For Common errors and troubleshooting Step 2: Uncheck the box next to Download changes since last Send/Receive.In the Information to download section, select Full Details and in the Address Book section, choose \Global Address List. **NOTE** Please read this section carefully, or your update will not work!!In that case the whole OAB is being downloaded again. While it's usually not necessary to relocate the offline cache used by an Exchange account, it is possible to move it to another folder or partition.

If you try to use an old cache file, Outlook will complain that it doesn't match the server mailbox. When it didn’t or when you want to make sure you do have the latest OAB available, you could manually trigger an update from within Outlook as well.If the update mechanism appears to be broken for you, it could be because of a corruption in your OAB or in your mail profile. And since this website’s main focus is on Outlook, it makes sense to start with Outlook as well ;-).The command for the manual update procedure can be found here: Outlook will automatically download updates only unless the size of the changes is larger than 12.5% (one-eighth) of the total OAB size.
